I’m a writer. I live in Portland, Oregon with my wife, Lisa Holmes, and our two dogs, Sadie and Cricket.
I fell in love with the idea of writing when I was a kid growing up on a family farm in central Kansas. I actually began writing seriously when I was in high school. Like many young romantics, my first love was poetry, which I focused on during high school and college, but began writing less and less of after graduating and having to spend my time making a living.
My professional career has been spent writing for business. Basically marketing communications and public relations. My wife, a graphic designer, and I currently have a marketing communications business called Yulan Studio. I’ve had a productive business career, but I prefer to focus on my creative writing on this site. If you want to see what I’ve done in the business world, you can check out my company site.
In my personal creative work, I spend the majority of my time writing screenplays. I love watching movies, and I love writing them. I’m also writing poetry once again, as well as short fiction and non-fiction when time allows and the spirit moves me.
